THERE ARE ODDS TIMES AND THERE ARE EVEN TIMES

In Mathematics ODD NUMBERS are those numbers that cannot be divided into two equal parts.
3 5.7.9.11 13 15…etc.

If we divide an ODD Number by 2, it will leave a remainder.

3÷2=1 remainder 1
5÷2=2 remainder 1
7÷2=3 remainder 1
9÷2=4 remainder 1
11÷2=5 remainder 1
etc.

ODD Times means Different from what is usual or expected. Strange.

In the BIBLE
Genesis 47:9
Jacob said to Pharaoh.

The days of the years of my sojourning are 130 years and evil (odd years) have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojourning.

This term implies someone who is wondering, traveling, or never fully settled in any one place. (Hebrews 11:13)

He describes those years as “few and evil” and much shorter than the lives of his fathers.

There was something ODD about his history.
A journey filled with strange sights.
A feeling of impending disaster.

GENESIS 34:
Jacob served Laban for 20 years at Paddan Aram, present-day Turkey.

As Jacob and his family were returning to Canaan.

They came to a city called Schechem in the land of Canaan.

Schechem the Prince of the land abducted and raped *Dinah Jacob’s daughter.

Jacob and Hamor the Fathers of Schechem struck an agreement to have all the MALES of Schechem circumcised as a condition for inter-marriages.
While they were nursing the sore, Dinah’s brothers slew all the males of Schechem.

Not minding the people in the suburban towns can join forces to eliminate them.

It took divine intervention for Jacob and his family to escape.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
FOR everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.

It stated ODD TIMES as:
To die.
To pluck up what is planted.
To kill.
To break down.
To weep.
To mourn.
To throw away stones.
To refrain from embracing.
To lose.
To throw away.
To tear.
To silence.
To hate.
To war.

Traffic got so bad in Lagos in the 1970s.
(Post-oil-boom), that the government had to introduce a policy where ODD-Numbered and EVEN-Numbered License plates were segregated according to the DAY of the week to ease traffic congestion.

Trust Nigerians – some got a second car.

Most others just got a second plate.

ODD Numbers reduced the traffic on the road in a short time.
EVEN Numbers increased the traffic.
Even with the introduction of the policy not much was achieved in decongesting the traffic jam.

Where such a thing as odd exists there is mostly negativity.

ODD Times can be regarded as when a person is going through hard, tough, trial, temptation, suffering, and stagnant times, and everything looks like is on the contrary. Everything seems unfair to one. The feeling of impending disaster.
Feelings of sadness, homelessness, increased stress, and diminished interest in things and activities they normally enjoy – enveloped their lives.

In Mathematics EVEN NUMBERS
are these numbers that can be divided into two equal parts
e.g. 2.4.6.8.10 12.14… etc.
A number which is divisible by 2 and generates a remainder of 0.

4÷2=2 remainder 0
6÷2=3 remainder 0
8÷2=4 remainder 0
10÷2=5 remainder 0
12÷2=6 remainder 0
etc.

EVEN NUMBERS means being level or straight or regular (without variation)

Our brain processes even numbers more easily than odd numbers.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Stated EVEN TIMES as:

To born
To plant
To heal
To build-up
To laugh
To dance
To gather stones
To embrace
To seek
To keep
To sew
To speak
To love
To peace

When life is soft or comfortable or flowing or increases or continues.

A lifestyle of comfort and relaxation with minimal challenges or struggle.
A life of wealth and luxury, unburdened from stress and responsibilities.

THE IRONY OF LIFE is that odd times are catalysts, (a force that propels, a force that influences) us to the expected comfortable life we want to live.

No Cross No Crown teaches us an important lesson about Christian discipleship.

You must be a part of the Royal family to wear a Crown

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. God’s special possession; that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

We are royalty when we come into a relationship with God.

In this case, that means we are born again to inherit the throne and become the descendants of the king and, co-heirs with Christ, the King.
(Romans 8:17).

He has made us Priests and Kings.
(Revelation 5:10)

Our reward in heaven (the CROWN) comes after the trials in this life (the CROSS)
(James 1:12).

In just hours a chain of events would take place and change your entire life.
